Step of Construction:
we will use the property that the diagonals of a square are equal ,and bisect each other at right angles .
1- draw line segment AC is equal to 8 cm .
2- draw the perpendicular bisector XY of AC, cutting AC at O.
3- On ray OX cut off OD is equal to 4 cm( half of diagonal)
4- On Ray OY cut off OB is equal to 4 cm ( half of diagonal )
5- join AB , BC ,CD, and DA
ABCD is the required square .
