let the side's of square be a

in right angled ∆ ABC
By Pythagoras theorem

6² = a² + a²

=>

2a² = 36

=>

a² = 18

=>

a = √(3²×2)

=>

a = √(3)² × √(2)

=>

a = 3√2cm
