Construct a triangle ABC in which BC = 8 cm, B = 60° and AB + AC = 11 cm.

Steps of construction:

1) Draw the base BC = 8cm

2) At the point B make an angle XBC = 60°

3) Cut a line segment BD equal to AB + AC = 11 cm from the Ray BX.

5) Join DC

6) Make an angle DCY = angle BDC.

7) Let CY intersect BX at A.

Then, ABC is the required triangle.

  • Draw a line BC= 8cm in staright line
  • Place a protector in B and mark angle at 60° and connect tha angle to B
  • where AB + AC = 11 cm from the B , draw a arc at D
  • Join DC
  • by the way <BDY=<DCX
  • so required triangke is formed ABC
