Step-by-step explanation:

ANSWER

(i) Draw a line segment which is sufficiently long using ruler.

(ii) Locate points X and Y on it such that XY=5cm.

(iii) At Y, construct a line segment YW, sufficiently large, such that ∠XYZ=100˚ ; use protractor to measure 100˚

(iv) With Y as centre and radius 5.5 cm, draw the line cutting YW at Z; join XZ.

⇒ Then XYZ is the required triangle.

Given : a triangle XYZ in which YZ = 6 cm ∠Y = 60⁰ and XY - XZ = 2 cm

To Find : Construct a triangle

Solution:

Step 1 :   Draw a line segment YZ  = 6 cm

Step 2 :  Draw an angle of 60° at Y on XY using protractor

Step 3 :  Draw a ray  YA at angle

Step 4 :  Take a length of 2 cm from Y at ray YA and mark B

Step 5 : Join ZB

Step 6 : Draw perpendicular bisector of ZB intersecting   ray YA at   X

Step 7 : Join XZ

ΔXYZ is constructed where XY - XZ = 2 cm
