Steps :-
1. DRAW A LINE OF xy OF ANY LENGTH.
2.DRAW PERPENDICULAR BISECTOR OF xy.
3.CUT AN ARC ØŃ THE PERPENDICULAR BISECTOR 5cm ABOVE xy(measure 5cm from the compass) NAMR THE INTERSECTION point as A.
4.DRAW AN ANGLE OF 80°ON THE BOTH SIDES FROM A.
5. JOIN THE LINE WHERE 80° IS FORM BOTH SIDES. NAME THEM B AND C.

Construction steps :

1 ) Draw a line XY .

2 ) Take any point D on XY and draw

DE perpendicular to XY .

3 ) Take D as a center and radius 5cm

( given altitude ) draw an arc which cuts

DE at A .

4 ) Mark points B and C on XY such

that <DAB = 80°/2 = 40°

and

<DAC = 80°/2 = 40°

Required Isosceles triangle with

altitude 5cm and vertex angle 80°

is formed .
