Constructed ∆ABC is attached.

Given:

  • A ∆ABC.
  • AB=5.8 cm , BC+CA=7 cm and angle B=60°.

To find:

  • Construction the ∆ABC.

Solution:

Steps of construction:

  1. Draw line segment AB of 5.8 cm with the help of pencil and scale.
  2. Draw \angle B= 60^{\circ} with the help of compass. Let the ray is BX.
  3. Draw an arc of 7 cm on ray BX. Let the point is L.
  4. Join A and L.
  5. Draw perpendicular bisector of AL with the help of compass. It intersects BX at point C.
  6. Join A to C.
  7. Construction of ∆ABC is over.

Verification:

On measurement it is found that

AC= 5.8 cm

and CB= 1.8 cm

Thus,

BC+CA=7 cm

Hence verified.
