first draw a line of 4.2 cm as we all know that a square has 4 equal sides so first draw one line of 4.2 cm give a name 'A' then measure 4.2 cm in a rounder and then cute a line from the 'A' then in the next time you have to do the same process and the 4.2 cm square will be formed.

Given,

The length of the diagonal of the square = 4.2 cm

To find,

The construction of the square with the prescribed length of diagonals.

Solution,

1) First of all, draw a straight line of length 4.2 centimetres, with the help of the scale. Name the straight line as "AB".

2) Now, by the help of the arc of the circles method, bisect the straight line AB and draw an perpendicular through the midpoint of the AB. Name the new perpendicular bisector as XY and midpoint of AB as point O. (Keep the length of XY more than 4.2 centimetres.)

3) Now take a measurement of 2.1 cm in your compass. Put the still end of the compass on the point O, and make two arcs on two sides of XY straight line. Name the two intersection points as C and D. Now, CO = OD = 2.1 cm, and CD = 4.2 c.m

4) At last, connect AC,BC,BD and AD.

(Diagram of the final construction is attached below.)

5) Here, length of AB and CD Diagonals is 4.2 cm.

Hence, the necessary square will be constructed.
