Given :   a scale and a compass

a line segment having length of 9 cm

To Find : Draw a perpendicular bisector of a line segment having length of 9 cm

Solution:

Step 1  :   Draw a line segment AB = 9 cm

Step 2 : Using suitable width of compass ( more than half of AB ) and taking A  as center draw arcs on both sides of AB

Step 3 : Keeping compass width same and taking B as center , draw arcs , intersecting arcs drawn in previous step at   M and N

Step 4 : Draw a line passing through M and N , intersecting AB at O

line MON is  Perpendicular bisector of AB

AO = BO = 9/2 = 4.5 cm

Step 1 : Draw  a line segment AB

Step 2 : Using suitable compass width  and taking A as center draw an arc intersecting AB at C

Step 3 : Keeping compass width same and taking c as center cut the arc at D

Step 4 : draw a ray  AX passing through D

∠BAX = 60°

Take a point O

and using compass width = 3 cm and taking O as center draw a circle.
