Contribution of jiddu krishnamurti in philosophy conclusion
Answers
I am not sure if I can answer about Krishnamurti’s philosophy, although I can try to point out at some of his teachings. Essentially he says “Truth is a pathless land and no creed, group, religion, sect, cult or guru can take a human being to it”. From there on, one can meditate on the complexities of daily life, relationship, love, fear, pleasure, desire etc. Krishnamurti dissolves himself in his teachings and doesn’t appear while a process of self exploration starts within the person listening to or reading to him. That is what he wanted his listeners/readers to do, and as he said, the speaker/teacher is just a tool, don’t give any importance to the teacher, rather look deep within yourself and observe all the movements of your daily life without choosing, without judging, condemning, accepting or following someone. He laid particular emphasis on rejecting and keeping away from all gurus and those who say “I know, you don’t know, come let me teach you how to attain it”.
Some of the essential and oft repeated phrases you find in Krishnamurti’s teaching, which one needs to explore and understand the truth or falsehoold behind these phrases by oneself, otherwise it is all just a wasteful repetition and empty words -
Time is the enemy of man
Choiceless awareness
The emphasis on fact and need to get see how oneself is conditioned through racial memory, reflexes, tradition, culture, nationalism, religions, sects, books etc
Thought and time are the same
Any idea of God or the Superior power and its subsequent creations (worship, tradition, culture etc) is created by Thought - so, however magnificent an idea or is, it is still limited by human thought. One cannot know the unknown through the limitation of Thought
The dissolution of the difference between the observed and the observer
The journey of Sense->Experience->Thought->Memory->Knowledge->Idea/Ideal that gets human beings conditioned and is the major cause of all mischief
Mutation that actually occurs when one is capable of seeing the “what is” without any sort of distortion
Love and Intelligence that don’t act in the realm of Thought/Time are possible for every human being
I could go one for some more, but to get into Krishnamurti, I think we can start from here.
