The Sitar and Guitar were sitting side by side in the musicians room when they had a conversation. Let us listen to what they said :

Sitar - "Hi, friend".

Guitar - "HI, who are you ?"

Sitar - "I am a stringed instrument used mainly in Hindustani music and Indian classical music."

Guitar - "Hey, thats great. I'm also a string instrument".

Sitar - "The veena is my ancestor, I get my name from a Persian instrument called the setar which means three strings".

Guitar - "Well, I have descended from the gittern, the vihuela, the four course Renaissance guitar, and the five course baroque guitar and now have six strings".

Sitar - "I flourished in the 16th and 17th centuries. I was popular in the Mughal court".

Guitar - "I too have a long history".

Sitar - "Pandit Ravi Shankar made me popular in late 1950s and early 1960s. I was popular in Western music during the 1960s and was used by The Beatles, The Doors, and The Rolling Stones".

Guitar - "I am used in a wide variety of musical genres worldwide. I am a primary instrument in genres like blues, bluegrass, country, flamenco, folk, jazz, rock, and many forms of pop".

The music program was about to begin so the musician came and took them to the stage and their conversation ended.
