(Silence all around. Desks lying empty. Summer vacations begin. Windows closed. Cupboards locked. Lights off. )
The curtains open.
WALL 1 : How alone the classroom becomes without students surrounding it :( I'm feeling lonely. There's nothing to hear, what shall I do now?
WALL 2 : Yeah, you're right. The students are the glory of this building. The world seems incomplete without them. I'm missing their capricious movements all throughout the day, there chatters keeps the room alight.
WALL 1 : That's true. Their whispers emboss upon me a feeling so delightful, that can never be expressed in words.
WALL 2 : Yeah, and just a day has passed, but I feel this room is empty since years, the pangs of my heart, long to meet the children. They add charm to the campus.
WALL 1 : Yep, but there’s something different in those children. It’s the elixir of enthusiasm they possess that separates them from the old ages. They are like an elemental force, a manifestation from the heaven above, and the magnanimity of the heart………..
WALL 2 : Well, you spoke true. It seems to me that the students have taught you to speak some of the brilliant letters of English language too.
(They chuckle).
WALL 1 : In that case, I’ll be the first one from the family of walls who would be literate.
(The voices of their laughter echoes in the whole building).
WALL 2 : True, they add beauty to our lives, but life goes on, with or without them. We can never live in the moment if we tend to fear the future.
WALL 1 : Yep, we shall not be upset. Your words remind me of an Arab adage : One dies of thirst just when the palm trees have appeared on the horizon. Why being upset for they have gone, let’s rejoice that we are the rulers of the building at present.

WALL 1 : I still recall my past when I was a piece of brick. They added me to the mixture of cement and other things, painted me and my companions, and turned us into the wall. What a fate! What do you say, dude?
WALL 2 : I have nothing to say or to feel. I don’t live in either my past or my future. I’m interested only in the present. If you can concentrate on the present, you’ll be a happy man. You’ll see that there is life in the desert, that there are stars in the heavens, and people fight because they are a part of human race.
(Takes a pause. Silence. Continues……….)
Life will be a party for you, a grand festival, because life is the moment we are living right now.

WALL 2 : Time teaches everything. It will teach you too. Adoring one’s beauty is useless if one’s words do not convey what he wants to say…. Beauty is a mere seducer of man….
(Stops, averting his eyes).
(Intruded by a sudden knock).
SWEEPER : I could hear some noises from here. I don’t know who was speaking..
WIPER : There’s nobody present here bro, let’s go. We have got a lot of work to do.
SWEEPER : Yeah, let’s leave.
(They left).
WALL 1 : (In a low tone) It’s a high time now. Let’s leave this thought here itself.
The two closed their eyes and slept…..
