(Two flood victims decided to stay back behind at their homes hoping the water level will abate. However, the water level continued to rise unrelentingly. Standing on their rooftops they had the following conversation)

First Victim: There seems to be no respite for us. All around us is water. The streets are flooded! The water level is rising threateningly! Only the tips of the gate are visible!

Second Victim: True! We took a wrong decision in staying back! We must have gone with the rescue team!

First Victim: I wanted to go too; but the thought of leaving the house with all the furniture, electronics and vehicles compelled me to stay behind for safety.

Second Victim: Your staying behind encouraged me to also stay behind. But what will we do if the water level rises to the roof? The buildings may collapse! I don’t know even to swim! Do you have any arrangements in case the worst happens?

First Victim: I know how to swim. Besides, there are some rubber tubes that we can inflate with the air pump. I am hopeful that the water level will subside in a day or two. The sky has been clear for the last two days. If it does not rain we will be safe.

Second Victim: Besides, our family ,members at the relief camp know we are here, they will inform the rescue team we are here; they will definitely save us. I am feeling hopeful also.
