The answer is a) 65°C b) 338.15 K

a) The formula for converting from Fahrenheit to Celsius is

T(°F) = T(°C) × 9/5 + 32 where temperature in Fahrenheit is 149°F and temperature in celsius is X

So, substituting the values we get

149 = X x 9/5 + 32

(149 − 32) × 5/9 = X

117 x 5/9 = X

585/9 = X

65°C = X

b) The formula for converting Fahrenheit to Kelvin is

(°F − 32) × 5/9 + 273.15 = Temperature in Kelvin

where temperature in Fahrenheit is 149°F and temperature in Kelvin is Y

So, substituting the values we get

(149 - 32) x 5/9 + 273.15 = Y

117 x 5/9 + 273.15 = Y

65 + 273.15 = Y

338.15 K = Y
