DDT is nothing but dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane.

● Preparation of DDT -
When chlorobenzene is treated with chloral (trichloroacetaldehyde) in presence of H2SO4, DDT is formed.

- DDT is widely used as pesticide for insect control.
