A linear equation is in the form :
y = mx + c
Let the total distance be S and the time be t.
In this case our y will be S and our x will be t since it is the changing variable.
Both m and c are constants.
In our case m is the speed since it is the one attached to the independent variable.
C is the constant which is the distance already covered.
Distance already covered is :
5 × 3 = 15km
The time it will take to cover the remaining distance is :
65 / 5= 13hrs
The equation thus :
S = 5t + 15
Where t ≤ 13
