Mole conversion:

Atomic masses of carbon and oxygen is 12 u and 16 u respectively. So, the molecular mass of CO_2 will be

= 12 + 2(16)

= 44 u.

The given mass of carbon dioxide is 22 g.

The number of moles can be calculated as,

\begin{aligned} N &=\frac{\text { Mass }}{\text { Molar mass }} \\\\\ &=\frac{22}{44} \end{aligned}

=\frac{1}{2}=0.5

Hence, the number of moles for 22 g of CO_2 is 0.5 mole.
