The molecular weight of oxygen in grams = 32 g of oxygen= one mole of oxygen gas

Thus, 12 g of oxygen=321×12=0.375 moles

Valency of Hydrogen is 1, and the valency of Oxygen is 2. Therefore, to balance the valency of an Oxygen atom, 2 atoms of Hydrogen atoms are required. Hence, 2 atoms of Hydrogen will combine with 1 atom of Oxygen to form one molecule of water with the chemical formula H2O.
