Answer:

We have to first convert the phenol into benzene diazonium salt in the presence of HNO2  and then we have to react it with beta naphthol which  

will give rise to p-hydrozyazobenzene which is orange dye in colour.

Now when the phenol reacts with the above prepared benzene diazonium chloride in the presence of NaOH, will gives p-hydroxy azobenzene.
