Balanced Chemical equations for the Reactions are as follows.
1. Zinc reacts with Sulphuric Acid solution to produce Zinc Sulphate (salt) precipitate. Hydrogen gas is released. Here Zinc is oxidized and Hydrogen is reduced.
Zn (s) + H2 SO4 (aq) ===> Zn SO4 (s) + H2 (g) + Heat
2. Magnesium reacts with (burns in the presence of ) Oxygen to produce Magnesium Oxide solid powder. It gives out energy. This is an Oxidation reaction.
2 Mg (s) + O2 (s) ==> 2 Mg O (s) + Heat Energy
