Converting thermal energy to mechanical energy?

this can happen in nuclear power stations.

they produce thermal energy ( heat ) by nuclear reactions and then heat up water and convert it to steam. after this, the steam rotates the turbines and by doing so; YO! you've converted thermal energy into mechanical energy, which alter will get converted into electrical energy.

not so sure about the answer though..
