Explanation:

Can we agree that cooking and cleaning is a life learned skill and not a gender role?

I hate the phrase “cooking and cleaning”. Cooking and cleaning are entirely separate activities.

Cooking is coordination and art. Cooking is, as once said on here, “fire and steel”. Cooking is the creativity that brightens your day.

Reliving a beloved traditional recipe, or diving into one of your own creations, can turn a bad day into a good one, or a good day into a great one, or a great day into the most fantastic day all year. Cooking . Cooking can be the premise of a get-together with family or friends, or it can be a mechanism for winding down after a long day at work.

Aromas wafting from the kitchen bring to mind Christmas dinners, complete with turkey, potatoes, gravy, carrots, corn, pierogi and patyczki. You have your own holiday tradition, and it’s probably different from mine. We can talk about that. Want to follow it up with a discussion on whether we use Pledge or Lysol? No?

Cleaning a kitchen is simply part of an “it’s my house” mindset. I slice my hot peppers with my santoku knife. I want that knife to be clean when I do that, so I clean it.
