Copper does not react with dilute Hydrochloric acid even it react with lactic acid present in milk when milk is kept in copper utensils?

it is so because when we consider reactivity series the hydrogen which is present in HCl is above the copper, so it shows no reaction. but when we consider reaction with lactic acid copper is more reactive than lactic acid, so it shows reaction with it
