here is the answer for (a) question:-

Copper is used to make hot water tanks and not steel this is because the iron (in steel) is more reactive than then copper also it react with hot steam to produce ferrosoferric oxide. Due to which the body of tank will become weaker and weaker. While copper does not react with hot water.

here is the answer for (b) question:-

Large Dams ensure storage of water for irrigation purposes and also for generating electricity. 2. Canals leading from these dams transfer large amount of water over long distances and help in supplying water to far off villages for irrigation and for used by people for drinking bathing and other use.
