Hey there!

When Copper sulphate and iron nail are put together then the reactions occurs is:

Fe(s) + CuSO₄ (aq) → FeSO₄(aq) + Cu (s)

As we know the colour copper sulphate solution is blue in colour. When we put iron nail in it , copper forms brown coloured coating on iron nail. The solution's colour also changes to light green colour.

Hence, it is a displacement reaction as iron is more reactive than copper and copper is displaced to form ferrous sulphate solution.

Hope It Helps YoU!

Answer:

(a) Chemical reaction of iron nail with copper sulphate solution in water. Iron displaces copper ions from an aqueous solution of copper sulphate. It is a single displacement reaction of one metal by another metal. ... Fe (s) + Cu2 + (aq) —→ Fe2+ (aq) + Cu (s).
