Iron(Fe) can reduce its blue colour as it lies above copper in the metal activity series. It is more electropositive than copper so it can displace copper from its salt in a redox reaction.

The blue colour of copper sulphate solution becomes sea green and a reddish brown deposit of copper metal is seen.
