Given info : For safety purposes, the rated load capacity of an electric fuse must be at least 120% of the continuous load.

To find : If the continuous load is 20 A, what should be the rated capacity of the fuse ?

solution : a/c to question,

rated load capacity = 120% of continuous load

but continuous load is 20 A.

so, rated load capacity = 120 % of 20A = 120 × 20/100 = 2400/100 = 24A

Therefore rated load capacity of the fuse is 24A.
