Hey there.....
The stems of cacti can make food. Cactus grows in desert regions and therefore its leaves are converted into thorns to reduce transpiration. The leaves cannot prepare food or glucose by photosynthesis. The stems of cacti contain chlorophyll and are green in colour. So the stems, by the process of photosynthesis, prepare food.
Hope this helps you friend....

Unlike other plants, cacti do not make food in leaves. Instead they manufacture food in their thin green outer layer of stem. Plants with thick, water filled stems or leaves are called succulents. ... Most other succulents store water in their leaves and their spines are not clustered.
Hope it helps!!?
