Corrosion : When metals are kept in air they tarnish dude to the respective metal oxide forged in they surface. This is called corrosion.
This can be prevented by:
1) GALVANISING : It's a method of coating metals with a thin layer of ZINC.
2) ALLOYING : Metals are made by fusing two or more metals or non metals to obtain diserable characters such as hardness, lightness, and strength.
Ex: Iron is mixed with carbon, nickel, and chromium.
3) Shielding the surface from oxygen and moisture.
4) By oiling, greasing, Chrome plating etc..
