On taking L.H.S. :

 \frac{ \cos(90 -  \alpha )  \cos \alpha  }{ \cot \alpha  }

 =  >  \frac{ \sin\alpha \cos \alpha   }{ \cot \alpha }  \\  \\  =  >  \frac{ \sin \alpha  \cos \alpha  }{ \frac{ \cos \alpha  }{ \sin \alpha  } }  \\  \\  =  >  { \sin}^{2}  \alpha  = 1 -  { \cos }^{2}  \alpha  = R.H.S.

{ sin²A + cos²A = 1 }
