As we know this trigonometric entity,
sin^2A+cos^2A=1.
sin^2A=1-cos^2A
We'll only use this single entity.

LHS.
cos^4A + sin^2A.
=cos^4A +( 1- cos^2A).
=1-cos^2A+ cos^4A.
=1-cos^2A(1-cos^2A).
=1-cos^2Asin^2A.

Hence LHS= RHS PROVED.
Hope It helps.
