Given, Selling price = 5225

            Discount = 5%.

Marked price = 100 - discount/100 * selling price

                       = 100/95 * 5225

                       = 100 * 55

                       = 5500.

Hope this helps!

Ravya11: still in doubt of first equation
Ravya11: m.p=100-discount/100*s.p
siddhartharao77: That is the formula
Ravya11: 100/95*5225 kaise aaya plz explain each step if possible
siddhartharao77: 100/100 - 5 * 5225
siddhartharao77: = 100/95 * 5225
Ravya11: ok
Ravya11: but you have written 100-d/100*sp and you solve 100/100-d*5225 plz check both mean different

Hi friend !

Selling price = SP = Rs 5225

Discount = d = 5%.

Marked price = MP = ?

MP = 100 - d/100 x SP

= Rs 100/95 x 5225

= Rs 100 x 55

= Rs 5500.
