If 5% more is gained by selling an article for rupees 350 than by selling it for rupees 340. What is the cost of the article?

acc. to the problem 5% more is gained by selling an article for rupees 350 than by selling it for rupees 340
so 350-340=5%*x
10=x/20
x=20*10=Rs.200
therefore cp=200
proof:-
take sp=340,cp=200,profit=sp-cp=340-200=Rs.140
profit%=(profit/cp)*100
so profit%=70%
take sp=350,cp=200,profit=sp-cp=340-200=Rs.140
profit%=(profit/cp)*100
so profit%=75%
and the difference between these two profits=75%-70%=5%
