given,
CP=Rs.3000
MP=Rs.4000
SP required to gain 20% = Rs.3600
so discount given = MP - SP
=Rs(4000 - 3600)
=Rs400
Discount percentage = Discount given/ MP*100
》Rs400/Rs4000*100
= 10 %
so the shopkeeper gave 10% discount to customer.
