on dividing both sides with √2

1/√2(cosx+sinx)=1

1/√2cosx+1/√2sinx=1

sinπ/4=cosπ/4=1/√2

so,sinπ/4cosx+cosπ/4sinx=1

sin(π/4+x)=1

π/4+x=π/2

x=π/4
