Cricket is a game with rural roots because their is no time duration for e.x. A test match can be played on for 5 days and can still end in a draw.
Also, their is no specification of shape and size of the field. Like other sports Hockey, Football have their limitations of ground but not cricket.
All the tools like Bat, Pads, Balls are made from pre- industrial material. Many of them are handmade also.
