7x+6y=3800 ---(i)

3x+5y=1750 ---(ii)

multiplying (i) by 3 and (ii) by 7 we get

21x+18y=11400 (iii)

21x+35y=12250 (iv)

subtracting (iv) from (iii) we get

−17y=−850

⇒y=50

putting y=50 in (i)

7x+6y=3800

⇒7x+6×50=3800
