supreme court has been borrowed from the american constitution and whilst the first supreme court was set up in our country at calcutta in 1774 during the colonialregime,thus its working,role and functioning are a blend of colonial and american rules and regulations.As per the provisions of our constitution, courts are enshrined with the responsibility of the interpretation of our constitution.Supreme court, being the apex court exercises its authority by adhering to the maxim ,” rule of law”.In theory or in particular our constitution elucidateson the functioning of the supreme court in article 121 which says that,”judges of the supreme court are not to intervene into the proceedings of the parliament”.
