The refractive index of liquid is 1.1

Given - Critical angle

Find - Refractive index

Solution - As per the known relation between critical angle and refractive index, the formula is -

meu = 1/sin critical angle

Keep the values in formula to find the refractive index of liquid.

Meu =  \frac{1}{ \sin(46) }

The value of sin 46° is 0.9. So, keeping the value of sin 46° in above equation to find the refractive index of liquid.

meu =  \frac{1}{0.9}

Performing Division to find the value of refractive index of liquid

meu = 1.1

Hence, the refractive index of liquid is 1.1.
