The India's Heros is a short story, set in an unnamed school in an unnamed location. The story starts where the teacher of class 8th asks students to tell them which of India's most famous heroes they wanted to be like when they grow up.
Most of the students explained about how they wanted to be like Sachin tendulkar, the cricketer, someone took the name of a famous actor and some focused on Politicians.
However, one boy, Kabeer said, he wanted to be like those policemen and army people who fought during the siege of Mumbai from the 11 terrorists. He also said that the people who took care of the wounded and helped the needy that day, were the real heros
