Answer:

In the first half of the 1st millennium, the Kashmir region became an important centre of Hinduism and later of Buddhism; later in the ninth century, Shaivism arose. Islamization in Kashmir took place during 13th to 15th century and led to the eventual decline of the Kashmir Shaivism in Kashmir. However, the achievements of the previous civilizations were not lost.

In 1339, Shah Mir became the first Muslim ruler of Kashmir, inaugurating the Shah Mir dynasty. For the next five centuries, Muslim monarchs ruled Kashmir, including the Mughal Empire, who ruled from 1586 until 1751, and the Afghan Durrani Empire, which ruled from 1747 until 1819. That year, the Sikhs, under Ranjit Singh, annexed Kashmir. In 1846, after the Sikh defeat in the First Anglo-Sikh War, the Treaty of Lahore was signed and upon the purchase of the region from the British under the Treaty of Amritsar, the Raja of Jammu, Gulab Singh, became the new ruler of Kashmir. The rule of his descendants, under the paramountcy (or tutelage) of the British Crown, lasted until 1947, when the former princely state became a disputed territory, now administered by three countries: India, Pakistan, and the People's Republic of China.

Kashmir 's annexation stood out in the background of the Mughal Dynasty, and during his 1589 visit to Kashmir Akbar, two years later, a war council was called to agree upon the capture of Kabul, presumably with a view to limiting the Uzbek empire's expansion in this region.

Explanation:

  • In 1586, under Qasim Shah's orders, the Mughal army conquered Cashmere. It was the time Akbar was in control of the Kingdom. The Mughals defeated the last independent Ruler of Kashmir in November 1586, in a fierce war around the Shopian district of southern Kashmir.
  • The Mughals didn't directly administer Kashmir from Delhi, because it belonged to the province of Kabul, until Shah Jahan was the emperor. During Shah Jahan 's rule, Kashmir was a separate Mughal Empire province governed by a governor.
  • In the first time in the summer of 1589, Emperor Akbar visited the Kashmir Valley. Like several others he was intrigued by the natural beauty of the area before and after him. Several gardens were established around Srinagar and South Kashmire by successive Mughal emperors.⠀ A few examples of this are the Shalimar and Nishat Bagh.
  • When the Mughals seized the Chaks valley in 1586 they discovered the valley in a lamentable state. In specific, the land revenue system was reshaped & adapted to the administration in the rest of the empire by carrying out annual and regular checks and by auditing the chances of embezzlement & cheating. The "institution of auditing" was introduced by the Mughal practices of Baramdi.
  • The period under review witnessed many developments in the economic field such as agriculture, trade & commerce, industry, workers conditions, their professions, the foreign trade volume, imports, minor & skilled crafts and the like.
