The primary locomotory organ of the crocodile is its muscular tail that helps it to move forward especially when in water. The legs are folded beneath the body to reduce drag. When on land, the legs too play an assisting role in its locomotion, but the tail continues to give the thrust. It prefers the water as it is an ace swimmer.
