➡Crude oil and refined fuel when spills into the sea from tanker of ships by accident. the consequences will be as follows :-

⚫as crude oil and refined oil are thick and they are impermeable ie they don't allow light to pass through them and also don't allow the gases in the atmosphere such as carbon dioxide and oxygen to pass through them.

⚫hence, when they get spill on the surfers of sea , they will form a thick film of layer on the surface.

⚫the marine plants and animals will become ill, suffer from diseases and gradually die .
⚫this is because the oil will not allow sunlight and carbon dioxide to pass through it , so marine plants will not be able to prepare their food.

⚫also, there will be no diffusion of oxygen in the sea , hence the marine animals such as fishes, octopus etc will also die.

⚫this will automatically cause water pollution in that particular sea because the polluted water cannot be used by people for other activities as well.

⚫hence, this will be the harmful effect of oil spills on the surface of sea.

The leakage of crude oil and refined fuel from tankers causes the saviour consequences on the environment as the oil is less denser than the water it floats on water by this the oxygen cannot dissolve in water leds to death of marine life.
