Crystals of copper sulphate are heated in a test tube for some time (a) What is the colour of copper sulphate crystals (i) before heating, and (ii) after heating? What is the reason of this colour change?

(1) ferrous sulphate crystal are green in color. after heating crystal change to brown
(2) ferric oxide is formed on strongly heating ferrous sulphate crystal. displacement reaction occurs in this change

Answer:

The Copper Sulphate seem to dry and when they are Heated they lose the Water of Crystallization and change their Blue Colour and turns White.
