Both of the shortcuts Ctrl + W and Ctrl + F4 have the same function. Ctrl + W is a shortcut to close the current tab, where as Ctrl + F4 also closes the current opened tab when pressed. You can press Ctrl + Shift + T to reopen the closed tab again.
