Cu is below hydrogen in reactivity series then why Cu reacts with nitric acid

Copper is an unreactive metal and in normal circumstances it doesn't react with dilute acids . However it reacts with nitric acid bcoz nitric acid is an oxidising agent and when react ,the products formed are oxides of nitrogen instead of hydrogen...
