Solution :-

given that,

→ Area of base = 2x² + 12x + 18 => Degree of area is 2 . therefore, it is a Quadratic polynomial . (Ans.1)

now,

→ A = (2x² + 12x + 18)

→ A = (2x² + 6x + 6x + 18)

→ A = 2x(x + 3) + 6(x + 3)

→ A = (x + 3)(2x + 6)

therefore, length and breadth of the rectangular base are (x + 3), (2x + 6)

hence, (d) None of these (Ans.2) .

now, putting A = 0, we get,

→ (x + 3)(2x + 6) = 0

putting both length and breadth equal to zero we get,

→ x + 3 = 0

→ x = (-3)

and,

→ 2x + 6 = 0

→ 2x = (-6)

→ x = (-3) .

hence, value of x here is (-3) . (Ans.3)

now,

→ Perimeter of base = 2(Length + Breadth) = 2(x + 3 + 2x + 6) = 2(3x + 9) = (6x + 18) (b) (Ans.4)

also, we know that, a watermelon is in the shape of a sphere . (Ans.5) .
