cuso4 .5h2o is blue in colour whereas anhydrous cuso4 is colourless .why.??​

Due to the presence of H20(water of crystallization ) in the salt.

Whereas Anhydrous Copper Sulphate ( CuSO4) is colourless due to loss of water of crystallization.

cuso4.5h20 is a hydrated compound..it contains a water molecule...so it looses it water of crystallization by the process of efflorescence..

so the blue colour slowly disapears..then the cuso4 is anhydrous compound...
