cyanobacteria introduce oxygen to environment as it shows oxygenic photosynthesis.. vegetative cells of blue green algae(cyanobacteria) are thin walled and perform photosynthesis that is release oxygen. and oxygen is indispensible(very important) for the existence of aerobic forms or aerobic organisms and they need oxygen for respiration..
