To find:

How much oil is there in each can?​

Solution:

The no. of cans the oil was distributed in = 16

The total quantity of oil = 256 L

Now, if we divide the total quantity of oil by the no. of cans available then we will get the capacity of each can:

∴ The capacity of each of the 16 cans is,

= \frac{Total\:quantity\:of \:oil}{No.\:of\:cans}

= \frac{265}{16}

= \frac{16 \times 16}{16}

= \bold{16 \:L}

Thus, there is 16 L of oil in each can.
