The defination for migration is a movement to another place often of a large group of people or animals.

Shifting cultivation is an agricultural system in which plots of land are cultivated temporarily, then abandoned while post-disturbance fallow vegetation is allowed to freely grow while the cultivator moves on to another plot.

Answer:

1. • Migration is when people from a place move to another in search of employment, good lifestyle, etc.

2. • Shifting agriculture is a type of subsistence agriculture in which a patch of forested area is cleared and utilised for agriculture.

  • The area is cleared by setting fire to that particular forest patch and then the ash produced is used as a fertiliser.
  • Thus it is also called as Slash and burn agriculture .
